Stone or Human?

I always think of waves as the events of our lives. The stones cast ashore as people. Worn down, shrink and reduced but shiny stones in a myriad of sizes. The stones that joined together are like two people who stick to each other and help each other in dire times. This is a beautiful union until it becomes an addiction and makes you forget who you really are. The sea is sometimes calm, sometimes furious and so are the events in one’s life. We fear the vigorous waves, to be hurt, to drown, and end up getting dragged. However, after the tempest, while looking at those stones at the shore, there is just tranquility and clarity. Just like when we rinse after the foam when taking a bath, we shine with cleanness. Smooth like new bed sheets, freshly spread… The feeling of being relieved of a burden, comfortable in our own skin... That's how those stones also look, radiant, as if alive.

No matter how vicious and destructive the events are, behind their relentless look, ready to swallow you, they have always the side to them which are like that wave of foam with the purpose of leaving you with a freshly cleaned spirit, ready to shine.

If we try to resist the most unforgiving events, we end up like those rocks, trapped among the sand, half visible, trying just to be, without anyone or anything being aware of them.

Let the sea drag you so that you may end up in a clean and calm coastline somewhere. Surrender to the current. Afterwards, everything will acquire a clearer look and will feel different. As long as you don't resist the flow and choose to be one with it… let the rage foam and clean you by rinsing... Don't resist...

Be sure that afterwards, every wave will be there to polish you further and give you a warm hug, bringing you new opportunities in the cool of the endless sea.
